Three connections, each doing one job.
NORTHMAST reads what it needs to calculate your profit, and nothing beyond that. Here is exactly what that means per platform.
What each connection reads
Connected by you, read for reporting.
Advertising connections are always started by you, cover only your own accounts, and are used for reporting inside NORTHMAST only. Stored tokens are encrypted, and disconnecting removes the imported advertising data for your store.
- Shopify
- NORTHMAST is an embedded Shopify app. It reads orders, refunds, line items and inventory for the store it is installed on, and performs no write operations on your store data.
- Meta Ads
- Optional. You start the connection yourself through Meta's own OAuth screen, and it applies only to your own ad account. NORTHMAST imports daily spend per campaign for reporting, and you can disconnect at any time.
- Google Ads
- Optional. Connected through Google's own OAuth consent screen, after which you select the one account to report on. NORTHMAST reads daily spend, impressions and clicks per campaign; it creates and changes nothing in your advertising account.
Boundaries
What NORTHMAST never does.
An advertising connection is a reporting connection. These limits are not settings you can switch on — they are how the application is built.
- It does not create or modify campaigns, ads, ad groups, budgets, bids, keywords, audiences or conversions.
- It performs no write operations of any kind on a connected advertising account.
- It never sends Shopify order data or data about your customers to an advertising platform.
- It does not share your data with other merchants and does not sell it.
Disconnecting an advertising platform asks it to revoke the token, then deletes the stored tokens, the selected account details and all imported cost data for your store. The full technical description is on the About page, and how the data is processed is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Early access
Connect your store and see the whole picture.
Both advertising connections are optional and independent of each other. NORTHMAST works without either of them.
